Box Hill Neighborhood in Abingdon Maryland
Box Hill is a residential neighborhood of the town of Abingdon in the state of Maryland. This neighborhood is located just off Abington Road. There is a Box Hill North Section and a Box Hill South Section. Box Hill North is located on the streets of Fox Hill Drive, Kensington Parkway, Laurenturn Parkway, Golford Drive, and many other smaller streets. Box Hill South is located in a smaller collection of streets at Windy Laurel Drive. Windy Laurel offers an access point into the neighborhood as you drive onto Laurel View Drive or Deer Creek Drive. The remaining streets making up Box Hill South include Meadow Valley Dr., and Arrowood Court. The neighborhood is just behind the Box Hill Corporate Center.
Homes in Box Hill
Box Hill North offers a mix of townhome properties and single-family homes and box Hill South offers a very small collection of single-family homes. There are also some apartment communities tucked into the Box Hill area including The Enclave at Box Hill and Parkview at Box Hill.
Townhomes and single-family home properties range in size from 1600 ft.² 2/3100 ft.² and can range in price anywhere from the mid $200,000 range to the upper $300,000 range. There is a homeowner association fee for homes in Box Hill North of about $47 per month. The community is quiet and offers sidewalk-lined streets and lush landscaping. Living in the Town of Abingdon
This town of Abingdon is not to be confused with the Abingdon in Virginia. It was named after Abingdon England. The town in England was the birthplace of William Paca and the Maryland location was also founded by Paca, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, he was also the third governor of the state of Maryland.
Though Abington is small there are plenty of great local events throughout the year in Abington and surrounding areas just a few minutes from the town. Abington is the home of the Susquehanna Symphony which performs yearly from the Bel Air High School as well as other venues in the area. Abingdon is a great place for anyone who loves to be outside with plenty of opportunities for hiking, pontoon boating, kayaking, canoeing, and more. During the winters when the snow comes in you may see a lot of Abingdon locals heading to Ice World to enjoy public ice skating, or taking part in, or watching hockey. At Ice World, you will find two NHL-sized rinks and year-round opportunities to enjoy the ice. Anita C. Leight Estuary Center is also a popular spot for outdoor recreation in Abingdon.
