Aberdeen Proving Grounds
Aberdeen is home to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds the headquarters of the United States Army Test and Evaluation Command. It employs more than 7,500 civilians and 5,000 military.
B&O Railroad Station
This historic train station is located in downtown Aberdeen. It was built in 1885 by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.
Aberdeen Festival Park
The Aberdeen Festival Park is located at the center of downtown on North Park Street. This is the place of many local Aberdeen events and festivals, hence the name. The park includes a field, a playground, and the APG Memorial. It is also the home of the popular Aberdeen Farmers Market.
Victory Street Park
As the name gives it away the park is located on Victory Street. This park offers a playground, basketball court, disc golf, and a dog park.
The Ripken Stadium
Some of the most notable residents of Aberdeen are the Ripken family. The famous baseball family includes Cal Ripken Senior longtime coach and manager of the Baltimore Orioles professional baseball team, Billy Ripken outfielder for the Baltimore Orioles and brother of Cal Ripken Junior who is one of the most famous baseball players and included in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Ripken Stadium is named for the Ripken family, specifically Cal Ripken Senior. It is located on Maryland Route 22 across the street from the Ripken experience. It is the home of the Aberdeen Iron Birds baseball team.
The Ripken Experience
The Ripken Experience is also named for the Ripken family that lived in the town of Aberdeen Maryland. The Ripken experience is a baseball complex with 10 youth fields that host tournaments, camps, and clinics. The fields are scaled replicas of current and former major-league baseball stadiums.
The US Army Ordnance Museum
This is one of the top visited attractions in the town of Aberdeen. The largest attraction in the museum is the collection of tanks displayed across 25 acres. There are more than 200 tanks on display to observe in the museum. Other exhibits include missiles and small arms of the army. The museum is located at the Aberdeen Proving Ground.
